Wedding Party

“My name is Shannon. I am the twin sister of the bride. We have always been very close from the very beginning of our lives. We continue to be very close. I cannot wait for Kyle and Sandy’s big day. I wish them happiness.”

“I met Kyle while we were in high school playing for the band team. Right off the bat we seemed to click, from humor, mutual friends, and future goals. From baseball (I know nothing but they needed a stats person), to tacos after events, I knew he would be a lifelong friend. Distance, be it miles or years, hasn’t lessened our friendship and I can’t wait to see what the future will hold for him and Sandy!”

“I entered this world loud and in charge to an older brother desperately hoping for a little brother to balance out his already “pleasant” little sister…WELL that didn’t happen. He received another dose of a phenomenal little sister. Why have one when you can have two?! I mean, I was like his “little brother” anyway…played hours upon hours of video games (Nintendo, WII and etc…)…and I won…Kyle, I’ll take you whenever you’re ready.” **rubs hands together**

“I was going to write this like a profile for a dating app but decided against it. Kyle and I have known each other for over twenty five years. We first met in Mrs. Armstrong’s homeroom class at James Madison Middle School in the 8th grade. We have come from kids having sleep overs and playing video games to grown men grilling and playing video games. We know each other so well and have so many inside jokes and references that we could have a full conversation in front of other people and they not have a clue what we are talking about. I’m not making that up. It has been said to us multiple times before.

I was born in DC and raised in Maryland. Thank goodness for the PG Public school buses or Kyle and I may have never met. As a child I would spend summers in Connecticut. The air was so crisp and clean in Connecticut compared to the DMV. The first time I went up and came back home I discovered I had sinus/allergy issues. I was in the sousaphone section of the band for three days. I am afraid of heights but had to conquer my fear of flying due to wanting to see the world. I don’t like it and don’t want to do it but such is life. Kyle is the only person that knows my family nick name when I was growing up and still calls me that from time to time. I also collect coins, foreign money and am an avid science fiction reader. Look at that! There, you now know several fun facts about me.

I’ll tell you a few quick stories about our misadventures.

First, in high school, we were at Applebee’s. He Jedi mind tricked me into eating the jalapeno that came with my fajita plate. Then sat there and laughed at me while I suffered. Around prom season we ran into each other a Landover Mall. I showed him the exact ensemble I was getting. Fast forward to prom night and we have the same thing on. This occurred by an “honest” accident.

We discovered that a steak didn’t have to be well done in order to be good. We grilled a London broil and grill scavenged. Grill scavenging is eating something right off the grill.

I am clumsy in general but especially while grilling. Kyle likes to point that out at each opportunity he gets. The plus side is Axel always knows it’s going to be a good time when he sees me grilling because inevitably I always drop food.

One time, as adults, we were riding in his car. I wasn’t paying attention and he switched lanes really quick and scared me. This was easy for him to do as he drives it like he stole it any way.

We once participated in a buffalo wing eating contest in Manassas. Neither one of us won.”

“My name is Alexander Tremain Jones. Kyle and I met 1997 through my cousin Earl Russell Jr. Back then we spent a lot of time playing video games. Our favorite was Socom U.S Navy Seal on the PlayStation consoles. We use to bowl in leagues, and tournaments together. I was always the designated driver when we went out together. We were also roommates for a couple of years.
We have grown up together, with the same mindset of what it takes to be successful in life. I am happy that Kyle found his other half, and know that he and Sandy will progress together in life.
I regret that I could not attend in person, but want to extend my deepest congratulations to Kyle and Sandy.”

“Kyle and I have been close friends for over a decade. In fact we have become brothers. Though we don’t see each other nearly enough we are always there for each other to support one another navigating through our lives. The countless fun stories and shenanigans are too many to list but just know that they would make great tv. A fun fact about me is that I’m an avid cyclist. I ride between 15 and 30 mils per day. I enjoy the open road and trails as it allows me to free my mind and become one with the world outdoors. I am excited that Kyle has found someone as incredible as him to share his life with and I wish Kyle and Sandy an amazing future together. I’m so excited and can’t wait to watch them build the next chapter of their lives together”
